Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea joins the 24th World Energy Congress 

Attending the ongoing 24th World Energy Congress (WEC) in Abu Dhabi this week, H.E Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons (MMH) of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is leading a large delegation of state-owned companies SONAGAS, GEPetrol and NAHSCO.

Considered the world’s most influential energy event, the WEC unites international oil companies, policymakers, and experts to discuss the future of the global hydrocarbons industry.

Equatorial Guinea will showcase the country’s hydrocarbon sector and highlight the Year of Energy Initiative through its representatives in attendance.

The Central African country is represented by H.E Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, accompanied by the Director-General of SONAGAS, Mr. Juan Antonio Ndong Ondo; Ms. Teresa Nnang Avomo, representing GEPetrol; Mr. Jesús María Nvumba Mbombio, President of NAHSCO, and Ms. Soledad Edjang Masoko, Coordinator of the Year of Energy 2019.

The delegation will attend several illustrious meetings and promote the upcoming events to be held in Equatorial Guinea. This includes the Oil & Gas Meeting Day Malabo Service Industry Conference which will bring together national and international service companies between 1 and 2 October; the 5th GECF Summit of Heads of State and Government and the GECF 2nd International Gas Seminar which will unite ministers from GECF and non-GECF nations in Malabo on November 26-29 2019.

The 24th World Energy Congress (WEC2019) is hosted by the United Arab Emirates, and held on September 9-12, 2019, at the National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi. The WEC is hosted every three years and is the prime event of the World Energy Congress. As the most influential energy event in the world, it covers all aspects of the energy sector. The event will be centered around the theme, “Energy for Prosperity”, addressing the most critical issues facing the global energy industry today.
