Spain appoints new ambassador in Equatorial Guinea

The Spanish executive appointed Guillermo Antonio López Mac-Lellan as the new ambassador to on Wednesday to replace Arturo Spiegelberg, according to the memorandum of understanding of the Council of Ministers.

Royal Decree 244/2017, of 10 March, which designated the Ambassador of Spain in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to Guillermo Antonio López Mac-Lellan.

López Mac-Lellan (1968) holds a degree in Law and joined the Diplomatic Career in 1995.

He was currently the second head of the Spanish Embassy in Ecuador and previously was assigned to the Spanish diplomatic representations in Senegal, to the United Nations and International Organizations based in Geneva and to the permanent representation of Spain in the European Union.

The new ambassador was also the Deputy Director General of Sub-Saharan Africa in the Directorate General of Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
